Premium producers of table olives, extra virgin olive oils, fresh pomegranates and pomegranate syrups
Aril Estate was founded in 2005 on a sheep grazing property. In the summer of 2007-2008 we planted our first batch of 1500 olive trees. We now have approximately 525 each of Manzanilla and Californian queens, 750 Picual and 200 SA Verdale under irrigation. We specialise in Greek styled fermented green, turning colour and black table olives and produce a small amount of shrivelled salt cured back olives. We also produce extra virgin olive oils. In 2016, we began producing a range of infused oils. These infused oils use our estate-grown garlic and chills. We continuously add new infused oils to the range as required.
Additionally, Aril Estate has over 3500 pomegranate trees planted. We have eight varieties ranging from very sweet to sweet-and-sour (sour refers to the tartness level) fruit. The sweet-and-sour fruit vary from deep purple, red and pink aril (seed) colours and flavours. All of our pomegranates fully ripen on the tree, producing outstanding flavours not found in groceries or supermarket stores. Our fresh pomegranates are for sale in April and available throughout winter or until sold out. We make three types of pomegranate syrups. These range from sweet and sweet-and-sour syrups and available all year round. They make great alcohol mixers, cordials, desert flavourings; additions to oven backed or grilled meets and vegetables.
On a smaller scale, we sell our own fresh garlic and produce apricot and plum jams. These products go on sale at the start of summer and generally sell-out by early autumn.
