Taronga Western Plains Zoo
Set on 300 hectares, the Zoo’s 6km circuit can be explored by walking, bike, cart or your own vehicle. You’ll be amazed at the wide open spaces, as you meander through natural bushland and around the large open style exhibits.
The Zoo plays a vital role in national and international conservation programs for rare and endangered species. While on expedition, you’ll come face to face with some of the world’s most endangered animals including the Black Rhinoceros, Przewalski’s Horse and African Wild Dog.
Check out our daily talks, tours and encounters. Whether you’re getting up close and personal with Meerkats, enjoying a Big Cat encounter or watching the captivating African Wild Dog feed, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at the Zoo.
