Mudgee Fine Foods
The Mudgee region is fast becoming known as one of Australia’s best foodie destinations, and with good reason. Mudgee Fine Foods was setup in 2005 to promote the work of the region’s dedicated, diverse + talented producers. They host various events throughout the year aimed at connecting both locals and visitors alike, with fresh, locally grown + seasonal produce direct from their grower. Be sure to head along to their monthly Farmers Market, KIDS cooking class or Farm Walk and pop the Makers’ Market dates in the diary. Attendees will get an opportunity to chat to a farmer, learn how their food is grown, sample their produce + purchase some to take home.
Held the third Saturday of each month, 8:30am-12:30pm
On the third Saturday of each month some of the regions finest growers, producers and culinary artisans showcase their products for both locals and visitors to the region to enjoy. So, grab a bacon and egg roll, team it with a freshly brewed coffee, and listen to local musicians play as you stroll among diverse stalls and chat to our local food producers before selecting some great produce to take home with you.
Third Sunday of each month: 9.00am – 12.30pm (From March 2019)
Two local farms open their doors for a farm walk each month, enabling visitors to explore the origins of local, seasonal produce. Depending on the season, you may get to see olive oil production, free-range pork, locally grown vegetables, vineyards, a fig orchard or a working winery. Farm walk participants get to meet the farmer and hear how passionate they are about what they produce. There will be opportunities to ask questions, pick or collect produce, taste fresh food straight from its source and where possible, purchase produce direct from the farm gate.
Four times per year - The Saturdays of Easter, June + October Long Weekends and December Christmas Market. 8.30am–12.30pm.
The Makers’ Markets is where you’ll find a combination of the very best of Mudgee’s food + wine producers, growers, artisan culinary wizards and the region’s finest artists + crafts people. With over 60 stalls, the market showcases and celebrates everything that is colourful, yummy and artistic about the Mudgee region. Jewellers rub shoulders with bakers, clothing designers with olive growers, next to silk painters and lamb farmers – the list goes on. If it is handcrafted, baked, bottled or grown, you will find it at the Makers’ Market.
