ArtsNational Mudgee presents:
Alice Foster who will be presenting her lecture: "De-Coding da Vinci"
Alice Foster has a busy freelance career in the UK including History of Art study days and regular classes in Oxfordshire & Worcestershire.
Whilst in Mudgee, Alice will be speaking about Leonardo da Vinci's influence on western art. Leonardo da Vinci died over 500 years ago, yet his work remains enigmatic, potent and mystifying. He was a gifted engineer, inventor and scientist, with painting falling at the end of his list of curiosities. Much of his work is unfinished. His "Last Supper" was the target of jokes and vandalism, while he was one of the first to be drawn to human imperfections seen in his caricatures. And what is it about the Mona Lisa?
Following the one hour presentation, there will be an opportunity to meet Alice and mingle with others whilst enjoying light refreshments.
Cost: $30 for non-members; Members free; f/t students free.
