Mess Up Your Head: Portrait Workshop

Create a crazy cubist portrait of yourself in charcoal

Curious about drawing portraits but not sure where to start? This relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect place to explore the cubist world of portrait drawing—no experience needed!

In this hands-on session, you’ll learn how to:

• Learn to break down the face into simple lines and shapes
• Get you hand and eye to work together to capture the world around you
• Play with charcoal to get different effects
• Mash images together to create a single mixed-up face

You’ll be guided by Michael Bourke who will guide you with the materials and techniques. By the end, you’ll have your very own cubist portrait to take home!

All materials supplied

Suitable for children ages 6 and up (participants under 12 must be supervised by an adult).
