Throughout the year, the Rosby Cellar Door and Gallery exhibits sculpture and hanging works from a range of emerging and established artists.

Penumbra brings together the practices of painter Leonie Barton and sculptor Paul Bacon in an exhibition that sits in the space between light and shadow, stillness and movement, presence and absence.

Based on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Leonie Barton's work is deeply informed by her rural surroundings. Her paintings trace the rhythms of changing seasons and the constant flux of nature. Moving between moments of quiet observation and raw power, her practice reflects both the intimacy and vastness of the natural world, shaped by solo travels through remote landscapes.

Paul Bacon's welded steel sculptures emerge from drawing, memory and place. Inspired by the architecture and terrain of his environment, his forms feel like figures stepping out of shadow—part machine, part dream, fragments of purpose rediscovered. Together, Barton and Bacon create a compelling dialogue, where material and image hover in the penumbra, inviting contemplation and pause.
