PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP with director/choreographer Meryl Tankard AO
For school-aged kids aged 9 yrs and over
Description - Participants will work with Meryl to create scenes using music, movement, drama and improvisation. A short movement warm up will be followed by devising and learning movement sequences with text (and a possibility to build props.)
No dance training is required. Wear comfortable clothes, light shoes/trainers and socks to move in.
Dates: September - Tues 26, Wed 27, Thu 28, Fri 29 - 2pm-4.30pm. Must attend all 5 sessions.
30 Sept - TBC - Late afternoon / early evening for presentation in Opera House Gulgong

Meryl Tankard is an internationally acclaimed director/choreographer. She has worked in Australia, Germany, France, Belgium, UK, USA and Japan. As director of Australian Dance Theatre she explored and expanded the boundaries of dance, theatre and visual art. In 2000 Meryl created the opening segment of Sydney Olympic Opening Ceremony and has worked on Broadway New York and London’s West End.
