Enjoy living history staying at the Bridge View Inn.
The Bridge View Inn Apartment can be let to a couple exclusively, or to a group or family traveling together. The South bedroom has a queen bed and direct access to the lounge room with an open fire and television/DVD. The North bedroom has twin king sized single beds and an open fire. A small kitchen is stocked for a simple continental breakfast and the modern bathroom is for your exclusive use during your stay.
The handsome sandstone building was built in the early 1870s as a public house and hotel and is listed on the New South Wales Heritage Inventory. The building now houses several boutique businesses on the ground floor including a Yum Cha Café, a Barber, and a Massage studio. The main dining room is used for meetings/functions and features a unique 1872 mural over the fireplace attributed to Augustus Baker Peirce.
The Bridge View Inn is part of an historical precinct that includes the Thyme Out Community Garden, the Colonial Kitchen and the Cottage Museum that is open 10 to 3 on Sundays. The precinct has been restored and is maintained by the Rylstone & District Historical Society, a volunteer organisation dedicated to preserving local history for the benefit and enjoyment of the local community and visitors.
Rylstone is a great place to relax at the local cafes and pubs, investigate the craft and gift shops or to stretch your legs wandering along the Cudgegong River or following the Rylstone History Walk around the town. Wollemi National Park is not far away where you can climb the pagoda rocks or kayak and swim at beautiful Dunn’s Swamp.
