About the Tutor
After a life changing event, Chris found himself in hospital, unable to walk or even speak. During his recovery, Chris was encouraged to take up motor skills training and so he naturally gravitated to the arts where he found pleasure from painting and sculpting. In 2018, a chance encounter and some friendly encouragement from family and friends pushed Chris into entering his creations into an art show where he won first prize. Over the following year Chris won first prizes in every competition he entered. Chris has a natural affinity with the bush and his earthy sculptures of native Australian animals and birds are made from reclaimed eucalyptus hard wood which is sustainably sourced from his property in Glenaroua.
