As with many other events, this year’s Mudgee Readers’ Festival will not go ahead. Even if the threat posed by COVID-19 has subsided by August, our volunteer team has agreed that it is just too difficult and potentially unsafe for our community to continue with our 2020 plans.
However, our fabulous event will be back. We've marked Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 August as our 2021 dates, so please do also save that weekend. A lot of the exciting plans that we had in the works for 2020 will be possible next year — maybe even with some extra bookish sparkle to make up for a lost year.
In the coming months, our team will be looking after ourselves and each other, supporting local Mudgee Region businesses and getting a lot of reading done. We hope that you will do the same.

Mudgee Readers' Festival
This boutique festival attracts writers, readers and book clubs for a fun and social weekend of great wine, great food and terrific conversation. Find your story on 15 + 16 of August.
The Mudgee Readers’ Festival celebrates its eleventh year in 2020 — a huge achievement for a festival created by a small team of passionate readers, with the first modest events held in Lawson Park. Over the years the Festival has gone from strength to strength, with an exciting line-up of events across our gorgeous town, including MRF Book Club and Bibliotherapy sessions, storytelling events, book and wine matching and, of course, the Long Lazy Lunch.
