This art exhibition at Rosby will feature new works of watercolor, pastel on board and sculpture.
Curated by Rosby’s Kay Norton-Knight for the newly opened Rosby Gallery – Nigel White’s solo exhibition, Down River, explores a journey though the network of the landscape.
For over four decades White has responded to the landscape as a farmer and artist after returning to Mudgee from his time at the Sydney College of the Arts and East Sydney Tech.
Two years in the making and spanning printmaking, timber sculpture, watercolour and pastel works on board – Down River is an accumulation of memories committed to the subconscious, portrayed from his studio on top of the hill.
It is from here he observes his own journey through time, the organic path of the flora and fauna and of the water leaving the hill – heading to the border, to Adelaide, to Amsterdam.
For White, these are the journeys encapsulated Down River.
Open on weekends from 28 November – 31 January, on weekends only, or by appointment.
