About the exhibition
Rachel Melchers is a painter of contemporary landscape and still life. Her work is inspired by the natural environment. Spanning from the bush to the beach in its many forms. Immersing herself in nature to feel connected to the earth and elements, little details or vast vistas catch her eye with their unique pattern, colour or form.
Nicole McCutcheon is a practicing artist for over 30 years. Her recent work tends to be figurative and narrative, focusing on creating clay sculptures that evoke memories in the eye of the beholder. A young child, playing in a bucket of water on a hot day; a mother holding her infant child close to her chest; a figure stretching. McCutcheon hopes the memory they trigger will encourage the viewer to daydream to finish the story.
