Thistle Hill is a family-owned vineyard and winery in the Erudgere Valley, which is just ten minutes' drive from the town centre of Mudgee. Established in 1976, Thistle Hill is one of the oldest vineyards and wineries in the region and has been certified organic by the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia (NASAA) since 1993.
Their long-term organic status means the vineyard is free of all synthetic materials - including toxic pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers and systemic fungicides. The sustainable principles in the vineyard translate to more concentrated and well-balanced fruit each vintage, which in turn makes elegant, fruit-driven wines that speak for themselves - just as nature intended.
Thistle Hill is the only wine label in Mudgee to receive a five-star rating from wine writer Robin Bradley in his best-selling tome Australian Wine Vintages. It's an accolade that we have sustained for more than 15 editions of his book, so come out and see what the fuss is about.
