Not a wine drinker? We’ve got a cellar door for that…

Sure, the Mudgee Region is best-known for its wine. But what if you don’t like our region’s native drop?
Don’t stress, we won’t hold it against you; even better, we’ll find you some other things to do!
The Mudgee Region is home to a range of other cellar doors that showcase the best local produce. Think juicy olives straight from the tree, chocolate that gives the Lindt bunny a run for its money and donuts that have been labelled a ‘biblical experience’.
Here’s a few stops to add to your itinerary:
Rylstone Olive Press: located just outside Rylstone, this award-winning olive oil producer is well worth a visit. Visit for samples of their olive oils; stay for the story behind the produce.
Spencer Cocoa: the Willy Wonka of Mudgee. Their single-origin bean-to-bar chocolate is made in their factory from freshly roasted Vanuatu cocoa beans. Visit for a tour of their factory and all the sights, smells and tastes; stay for the chocolate bunnies.
High Valley Cheese: your new favourite artisan cheese shop. Located just minutes from Mudgee’s wineries, this farm shop is a savoury lover's dream. Visit for their triple cream brie and washed rind cheeses; stay for their marinated fetta - OMG.
Old Wheels Grind: you’ve never tasted donuts like these. Hot, dough-y (is that even a word!?) and so cinnamon-y. We dare you not to eat an entire six-pack to yourself. Visit for the donuts (obvs!); stay for the fire pits, the incredible outdoor play space and the coffee.
Mudgee Honey Haven: for something sweet and seriously delicious. Taste your way through 100% natural honey, direct from the apiaries, alongside honeycomb and bee-made goodies. Stay for a coffee and bite at the onsite café, and leave with more jars than you planned.
Gooree Park: okay, so there is wine here (sorry!) but there’s also an incredible horse racing history and a cellar door that is packed with local produce. Book a stud tour to go behind the scenes of their thoroughbreds and cattle, before dropping in to the cellar door to pick up some homegrown Wagyu and jams, sauces, mustards and more made from their own produce.
Aril Estate: farm tours without the boring bits. Andrew and his family will take you around their olive grove and pomegranate orchard, where you can taste fruit straight from the tree. Visit their olive press, learn how to eat a pomegranate (it’s quite tricky!) and give their farm dog a pat. Visit for the true country farm walk experience; stay for the free samples of their olive and pomegranate products.
Mudgee Visitor Information Centre: your one-stop shop for Mudgee Region’s best produce. Centrally located, the information centre is a must-visit before you head home. Stock up on all the produce you’ve tasted around town and take a piece of the Mudgee Region home with you.
