From Sydney: around 3.5 hours along the Great Western Highway through the Blue Mountains, or follow the Bells Line of Road to Lithgow. The turn off for Mudgee is just past Lithgow (the last traffic lights you’ll see for a while). On your journey, be sure to plan enough time for a detour to explore the gorgeous heritage towns of Gulgong, Rylstone and Kandos.
Located just 268km driving distance north-west of Sydney, no matter how you choose to get yourself to Mudgee Region, it’s all part of the adventure. You’ll feel your senses tingle as the city-scape blurs out of view and the vast country landscape opens in front of you. Once you arrive you'll be set to enjoy the local produce, food and wine and teh friendly country hospitality.
Take the famous Bylong Valley Way for a 4 hour drive via Denman and Sandy Hollow. Turn at Sandy Hollow and explore the towns of Rylstone or Kandos before arriving in Mudgee. Alternatively, take the road via Merriwa and Ulan to Gulgong or Mudgee.
Around 4 hours along the Great Western Highway and Castlereagh Highway. Goodbye surf and sea, hello rolling hills and trees.
5 hours via Yass, Cowra and Wellington or via Cowra and Bathurst or via The Tablelands Way through Goulburn, Crookwell and Oberon to Bathurst, then Wattle Flat, Sofala and Mudgee. The road is fully sealed, it's an easy trip to Mudgee.
