Retreat to a luxury glamping tent overlooking a sea of green pastures that flow into a forest of enchanting gum trees and mighty escarpments. Welcome to Wildnest, nestled in the breathtaking Capertee Valley.
Pondering a camping trip, but you’re not quite ready to slum it? Or maybe you’re craving a raw, back-to-nature experience, without getting your hands dirty. Wildnest, a luxury farm stay and glamping retreat nestled on a working farm, brings nature to your doorstep – where you’ll be standing in your fluffy green robes.
Wildnest takes glamping to a whole new world. Put your feet up in your five-star-style glamping tent – decked out with opulent furnishings that match those in a boutique hotel – and explore the wild and wonderful Capertee Valley – the second-largest canyon in the world.
Time here will gently ebb and flow, marked by the colours that dance across the valley’s escarpment as the sun rises and sets. Let the beauty of nature unfold before your eyes at Wildnest, three hours from Sydney and one hour from the centre of Mudgee.
Both tents – Honeyeater and Kookaburra – are furnished with everything you need - and more. Feel at home with a fully equipped kitchenette, king-sized bed fitted with buttery soft sheets, and a spacious bathroom complete with a relaxing rain shower and custom-built vanities and spa-like bathroom amenities by local Blue Mountains brand, Ikou. There’s even a wood-burning stove to keep you snug during your winter stay.
When you’re seeking that extra moment of relaxation, there’s nowhere better to be than in the bubble-filled outdoor tub – your front-row seat to soak in the sunset, or come nightfall, a sky sparkling with stars.
And for those true glamping essentials? You’ll find a fully functioning flushable toilet in your tent. Because roughing it? Not here.
Mornings at Wildnest are pure magic. Watch in awe as the sun rises and warm hues are cast over the valley and the famous ridges of Pantoneys Crown. Outside your tent, be greeted by kangaroos casually grazing and birds hopping between the trees; their morning song calling you into the day.
In the evening, sip local wine by the campfire before the night unveils the star-studded sky. With only two tents on the property, you’ll never share this slice of serenity with more than three other people.
Every inch of Wildnest is carefully curated by the owners, Claire and Peter, down to the smallest detail. There’s no internet here, but you won’t need it. Feel nostalgia flood over you as the vintage record player sets a soundtrack to your stay; birdwatch from the comfort of your balcony with the set of binoculars; or get stuck into the stack of board games waiting to entertain you.
Wildnest invites you to be present, switch off and disconnect. “We bought our property in Capertee Valley back in 2017, and ever since we set foot on the land, we have wanted to share the feeling we get when we spend time there”, shares Claire and Peter.
The thoughtful touches continue with local goodies, bringing the flavours of the Mudgee Region right to your bedside. Savour the sweet, gooey goodness of The Country Plate’s rocky road and when it’s not quite wine time, Olive.a.twist’s small batch cordial is fruity and refreshing, made with fruit and vegetables (and the odd foraged herb) hand-picked in Mudgee.
Pack your bags. The ultimate Capertee retreat awaits.
