From easy rides around town and longer distance road trails to single track dirt roads for mountain biking, there are plenty of choices for those looking to pedal the region. You can hire or bring your own.
Around town you can ride the cycle path that runs along the river from Lawson Park to Walkers Oval where it crosses the Cudgegong River before looping back around past the Glenn Willow sports complex to Lawson Park.
The Rocky Waterhole loop is a favourite amongst locals. This 25km road ride passes by paddocks on the river flats, open farmland and past the base of Mount Frome, with stunning views across the Mudgee valley.
The Tinja Lane, Strikes Lane, Mount Pleasant ride offers those with mountain bikes or hybrids the chance to ride some of the dirt back roads close to town. The full ride is around 30km, but there are a number of shortcuts along the way should you not want to go the full distance. This ride passes wineries, vineyards and working farms, giving you the chance to experience the best of our region.
As there are not designated cycle tracks, riders do so at their own risk.
Mudgee Region is also home to a popular cycling event and a number of cycling clubs including the annual Bike Muster Event.
