ArtLab: Foundations is a school holiday workshop series for young people who want to build their creative skills from the ground up. Presented in partnership between Mid-Western Regional Council’s Youth Services and Mudgee Arts Precinct, each session focuses on a different medium, from drawing and painting to printmaking, sculpture, and digital art.
Participants will learn essential techniques, explore new tools and materials, and leave with the knowledge to keep developing their own unique style. Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or sharpening your skills, ArtLab: Foundations is the place to start your creative journey. This workshop is facilitated by Denise Jackson and will introduce students to Block Printing. Lino printing is an art activity where you carve a picture into a soft piece of linoleum, roll ink onto the parts that are left raised, and then press paper on top to make a print—kind of like making your own stamp! You can print this onto paper or fabric. All art materials are supplied on the day and lunch will also be provided.
