Ever wished you could sleep over at your favourite brewery, rise to the morning light rolling over rolling paddocks, or settle into a sundown tasting with a view? At Small Batch Brewery, you can do it all.

This award-winning microbrewery, already a go-to for craft beer and relaxed country vibes, has just unveiled two stylish new villas on a quiet patch of farmland just ten minutes from town.

A boutique beer-farm stay

Set among 40 acres of wildlife-dotted paddocks, the two new lodges – named Cascade and Eclipse after the farm’s hop varietals – bring high-end simplicity to Mudgee’s undulating countryside. “Each villa offers a relaxed and stylish escape,” says co-owner Amanda, “featuring light-filled spaces, luxurious bathrooms, and private outdoor areas with stunning countryside views.”

For Small Batch, it’s about sharing more than a beer. Wander the farm, watch the brewing in action, and sip some of the best ales in the region. “From kangaroos grazing at dawn to craft beer brewed right on-site, it's an experience that combines relaxation, outdoor adventures, and local flavour,” Amanda adds.

Only five minutes from Mudgee’s best-loved wineries and restaurants, and not much further into town, Small Batch feels perfectly located for exploration. Or, for staying in and doing absolutely nothing. Enjoy slow mornings, easy-going days, and the comforting clink of a tasting paddle just steps from your door.

The Small Batch story

Small Batch is far from ordinary. Amanda and Anton left behind Sydney’s fast pace for something they could build from the ground up. What began as a garage full of grain grew into a paddock-to-pint destination, and now a place to rest your head and linger a little longer.

“The inspiration behind the retreat was to create a place where guests can truly disconnect and experience the beauty of Mudgee’s countryside while enjoying the comforts of modern living,” says Anton. “We wanted to create a space where guests could connect with the brewing process, from seeing the hops grow to enjoying a beer poured fresh from the source.”

And while their story continues to evolve, the intention stays the same. “At Small Batch, we’re proud of what we’ve built, but even prouder of the experiences we share with our guests. It’s about building memories, connecting with people, and welcoming you to our little slice of paradise,” says Amanda. “What’s next? We’re not sure. But we continue to dream big, brew small.”

If you’re after something polished, but personal; rural, but design-savvy; peaceful, but within arm’s reach of your next pint, Small Batch might just be your sweet spot. You’ll come for the beer, but stay for the serenity.
